| 授業目的 / Course Objectives |
| The Course will pursue global issues in science, challenging science students to think critically about the correlation of science with current global issues, while improving their English in reading, listening and grammar. |

At the end of the semester students will learn the following skills.
1.Scanning research - Students search and scan information on the Internet, and extract what is needed for their report and presentation. 2.Organising information - Students organise information into an appropriate form and size for reporting, writing and presenting. 3.Thinking ahead - Students think about their own solutions based on the knowledge they have got, which will be implemented in their writing and presentation. |

since this is a mixed class, the content may be changed to suit the students' majors.
Some of the topics in the following will be selected. 1. Rototics 2. Space - the final frontier, but there are problems 3. Statistics that baffle mathematicians 4. Pros and cons of technology 5. World population - how can science solve this issue? Each topic will last for a few weeks. The detailed schedule will be provided on the firt day of the semester. |

| 授業方法 / Method of Instruction |
| Classes are conduced in English. Students are highly recommended to speak English in class. The lecturer may guide and help the class when finding information and instruct the method of research, however, students are expected to participate in group discussion, informaition research and presentation. |
