Takeshi Kawabata

is a Professor of Kwansei Gakuin University. After joining the ECL systems in 1983, he has been active in continuous speech recognition. Since 1986, he has been working in the ATR Interpreting Telephony Research Laboratories. He went back to the NTT Basic Research Laboratories in 1990. He had been a professor of the School of Science and Technology, Kwansei Gakuin University, since 2003 to 2023. Dr. Kawabata received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and communication engineering from Tohoku University in 1978, 1980, and 1983. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and electronics Engineering (IEEE), the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE), and the Acoustical Society of Japan (ASJ).
